Tai Chi has several benefits for the average practitioner. Three of these are prominent.
The first of these three is the benefits of muscle strength; Tai-Chi works your body slowly, but it DOES work it, and can increase both upper and lower body strength, when done often.
Tai-Chi also improves upon your Balance, and related senses; Proprioception is the ability to sense where your body and its' weight is in space, and the ability to correct it. It declines with age, but Tai Chi practice can develop this sense.
Tai Chi(Depending on the speed and length of the movements) can provide aerobic benefits, but this is not a dominant feature; Moreover, your flexibility will increase, in your major joints.
